Designed in 1962 by Harold Holdcroft, Royal Albert's Old Country Roses has become one of the most popular china patterns in the company's century-long history. The sumptuous design is enhanced by the pieces' sophisticated shape, graceful floral ornamentation, and rich feminine colors, with a style and elegance that are uniquely English. Measuring 6 inches in diameter, and standing 3 inches high, this round rice bowl beautifully complements the entire line of Old Country Roses tableware pieces. The crisp whiteness of the bowl gracefully showcases the outer ring of country roses in shades of pink and soft yellow. Set on a bed of greenery, the delicate flowers resemble those growing in a classic English garden. A hand-trimmed border in 22-carat gold encircles the rim of the bowl and the footed base completing the romantic design. Old Country Roses doesn't come in fine china. Whoever wrote first review is referring to some other product. I have this rice bowl and it is indeed bone china. It perfectly matches with rest of the set I own. Excellant quality and craftsmanship.
