My children and I enjoy the Kinnikinnick breads, animal cookies and especially the donuts! However this coating mix tasted awful. Like the other reviewer, we found it to be lacking flavor, the only flavor we could taste was salt. Also, it did not bake crispy at all, very mushy. I now make my own mix with homemade gf breadcrumbs and italian seasoning.

2 out of 5 stars Needs more flavor!   December 25, 2007

I was disappointed in this product since their bread mix is so quick and easy and very good. First of all, it needs more flavor, which I intend to supplement with spices on future batches until it's gone. Next, it isn't crunchy, at least when oven baked. I prefer to use cornflake crumbs. Gluten-free cornflakes are available - check in health food stores. Just put the flakes in a plastic bag and run over with a rolling pin to get crumbs, add spices of your choice (I like a teaspoon each of paprika and salt plus 1/4 teaspoon pepper to 1/2 cup of crumbs), dip the chicken in egg, roll in crumbs and bake.
