4 out of 5 stars Awesome for Reubens!   August 20, 2008
Bluebeary (Doylestown, OH)
Reubens were my favorite sandwich prior to going GF. I bought this mix with the intentions of just eating it with butter. I do not like rye bread alone and this bread had too much of a rye taste for me. That's when my husband said, "why don't you try making reubens with it?".
They were FABULOUS! I give it 5 stars for reuben making...but it gets an overall 4 stars for me just because I am not crazy about the taste alone.

4 out of 5 stars GF/CF   May 27, 2008

Bread has a great texture, but tastes and looks like pumpernickel, not whole wheat. It has such a distinct flavor that it's best just plain or with savory foods and isn't so great as toast with jam in the mornings.

5 out of 5 stars So tasty!   March 8, 2008
Laura Faber (Drummonds, TN United States)
This is such a tasty product, and so easy to make. The loaf is moist and tender, and it makes great toast! My son even liked it, and he doesn't need to eat gluten free. It is so nice to have a non-white style bread available to those of us with Celiac Disease, and the nuts and seeds are an added pleasure!

4 out of 5 stars Hearty, good taste, texture is crumbly   February 6, 2008
WallyFam (middletown, de United States)
I like this bread as a change from the somewhat tasteless white gf breads. I do not care for breads made from bean flour, but the bean flour in this mix is not detectable due to the flavors of the seeds and nuts. Overall a good hearty bread for turkey or maybe even rueben sandwiches. I toasted open faced sandwiches with provolone and tomato and topped them with avocado, baby spinach and honey mustard - it was delicious. I recommend as with most other gf breads that you toast this bread. This bread is not good with peanut butter (yuck!) I wish it were softer and not as crumbly, but overall pretty good. It's easy to mix, add water, oil and eggs, let rise, bake and enjoy!
