We recently decided to go gluten-free as a family. We were missing bread, and after reading scores of reviews, we decided to give this a try. Our kids love it, and it is beneficial that the slices are small. The kiddos wouldn't eat bigger pieces any way. Not sure about the methylcellulose, but other than that, this is great! Definitely have to put it in the microwave for about 10 seconds or the toaster on lightest setting to soften it up.

My young son is on a GFCF diet. He is very picky and his diet is very limited. When we switched out the toast he eats twice a day from regular white bread to Ener-G Tapioca Loaf, he never objected. It makes great french toast also, soaks up the egg perfectly. I don't imagine it would make good sandwiches though. DEFINITELY check out the 16oz loafs. These 8oz ones are so overpriced.

No, it isn't the tastiest bread on this planet, but for those who want gluten free bread and have to be calorie conscious, this is the way to go. As a gluten intolerant individual who struggles to maintain a healthy weight, this bread allows me to have a sandwich without ruining my diet. Toasted, this is more than just tolerable, and a great option for those of us that need gluten free without stressing over extra calories...

I've tried some other gluten free breads, and this one is the best so far. It's good enough for anything I've tried- sandwiches (toast the bread a minute first), toast, garlic bread, etc.
I keep buying it from Amazon, so it's good. Also, I'm very glad that the packages come in packs of 12 loaves.

My family and I all have celiac disease/gluten intolerance, including my almost four year old son. In addition, I have dairy and sugar allergies, meaning I have to be very particular about what to eat and very careful about cross-contamination.
Ener-G in general is a company to whom I give high praise because of their awareness regarding food allergies and intolerances. I am able to eat almost every bread product they offer. They use fruit juice as a sweetener/yeast feeder, and they are completely allergen-free that I can tell.
My favorite of the bunch is the Light Tapioca bread. While the loaf is smaller than the others, it has a wonderful texture and flavor that is as close to the "real thing" I've found that fits within my food limitations. It's also less crumbly than its sibling, the regular tapioca bread, which while still good definitely isn't the same. This in turn makes it a much better pick for sandwiches.
I'm not the only fan of this product in my home. Ener-G's Light Tapioca bread passed the test with my son as well, which is a big deal when you have someone that young with food texture issues in the house.
My husband discovered it's great for making cheese sandwiches and French toast. Because it's not as dense it's better at soaking up the egg batter when making the latter.
I am glad to see that Amazon has this product back in stock. My local health food store runs out of this in the blink of an eye because it's so popular, and it's hard to find it anywhere else, so it's nice to know I can come here and get myself a pack of loaves large enough to last me and my family a while.
