"The Boynton" in Worcester, MA
« on: July 03, 2007, 09:39:29 PM »
Apparently this local restaurant, which I often drive by, has had a "gluten free menu night" once a week for several months now. I never knew about it. Regular menu items are available, and from 5-10PM a special gluten free menu can be had, including PIZZA!! That's right, folks, real, freshly baked, GF pizza, served to you in a restaurant! Some of the other offerrings are not as impressive. (while I like ribs, it hasn't been that difficult for me to find a GF BBQ sauce, and aren't MOST garden salads, and most of their "regular" salads GF?)

This wednesday being the fourth, and with many, many activities going on downtown, we would never be able to find parking... but you can bet I'll be going soon!!

Between this, the WONDERFUL gluten free menu at Nancy Chang's (healthful and tasty chinese) and the yummy yummy pastries (and wedding cakes!) at Crown Bakery, Worcester is becoming a great place for celiacs to gain weight!!!

Desperately hoping my wedding dress still fits in October-

So, I finally tried the Boynton's gluten free pizza tonight. Mike walked through the door with a medium-sized pepperoni. (what a good guy!) The sauce is excellent, the cheese cooked just right. The crust is a thin-style, which tastes very good, but I wouldn't say it was perfect. The texture is much better than many of the frozen types I've tried. You could definitely tell by looking at the pizza that it is GF. Overall, I'd say I give it an A-. Apparently, there has been so much demand that they have the pizzas daily, and other GF items on Wednesdays. Last month they sold 700 GF pizzas!!!
