Trader Joe's Banana Waffles
« on: March 16, 2005, 08:16:46 AM »
Almost every day I have Trader Joe's Banana Waffles for my breakfast, smeared with Skippy peanut butter.

The TJ's waffles are in the frozen food section of our West Coast Trader Joe's stores.

A few years ago I started having problems with my blood sugar getting too low in between meals. It seemed I was on the verge of developing hypoglycemia.  I found out that the problem was I was eating too many refined carbohydrates. I also discovered by trial and error that if I ate a breakfast with a high fat content, I did not get all shaky and weak before lunchtime.

So, in my typical breakfast, the Banana Waffles are used as a device to hold the peanut butter. They are very nice and I like them on their own merits, but it is the peanut butter that really helps me to start my day off right.

I usually have some citrus or other fruit along with the PB waffles.
