HI..Hope your all well !! as can be ...

Ive been doing the diet for about 4-5days was feeling good but doc also thinks I have a bit of candida so he has put me on a antifungal which I think is affecting me a bit.

But my main symptom is fullness, bloated tum..its no where near what it was a year ago..but still always a bit bloated/swollen...how long does it take for the swelling to go??

Ive only been on diet for 4 days tried a few times before but had accidents ...and I dont eat dairy..???  Really would appreciate it as its so uncomfortable..and if I had an idea when Its likely to go it would be easier to get on and be patient...???

Right, I am having probs like many of you on here as after being so sick at the begining a year ago.  I Accidently feel into a no gluten diet as went to homeopath to treat candida, my diet was so restricted and I was allowed ryvita but noticed I had tum probs when ate it my tum would swell and rumble.  So I mainly ate rice veg and protein.  Until she said it had gone and i got so down I started getting up and binging on bread once a week other than that I was just eating rice in the day.

Turns out they never tested me for it right the way through the last 14 months..so its very likley just dont want to make myself really ill.

Doc thinks its coelic ..had a blood test and its negative but I havent been as ill as I was in the begining I was REALLY ill..doc said I need to go back to eating it to get ill enough to show positive aaghhhhhhhhhhh

Thanks for your time everyone...Mand :-D

Hi Moseleymand,

I did not experience the bloated sensation you describe, but I can say that the length of time required until you feel much better on a GF diet varies quite a bit from one person to another.  I've heard some people report feeling better in just a few days, but most say it takes weeks, perhaps 8 to 10 weeks for some people.

I did not feel bloated, but I had more gas than a utility company and my tummy would often gurgle very loudly after a meal.  Perhaps your antifungal medication is a part of the problem, you might Google the name of the medication or talk to your Pharmacist to get a list of reported side effects.

Welcome, by the way.

Thank you...

Yeah...its liek it anyway though my tum..its as if when I eat the wrong food it goes massive...when I dont it feels like its just keeping it at bay..

But, I suppose thats the healing stage when its not massive and if I stick to diet it will eventually go down..

I am starting to think about cutting all carbs and see what happens...cant this week as starting a new job..

Thanks for your advise hope your well
Mand:)
