Gluten Free - Dairy Free (dark) Chocolate
« on: February 22, 2006, 06:53:23 AM »
In another thread a user was asking where she could get real chocolate with no milk.

The best place I've found to buy delicious, flavorful, wonderful real chocolate from Europe is Trader Joes.

We also see real dark chocolate in the gourmet foods area of regular supermarkets.  I see the Lindt brand most often in supermarkets, but if you are fortunate enough to have a Trader Joes nearby, look for the Vahlrona brand (my favorite).

In my experience chocolate is almost always GF in the form of a plain chocolate bar, although I think I saw one bar once with some barley extract.

As always, celiacs must read the label!

I need it to also be soy free.  I will go out of my way to a Trader Joes if you tell me the Vahlrona brand is soy free also.
