Not Only Gurgling: Other Gas Related Issues
« on: May 12, 2005, 03:16:33 PM »
The younger of my sons once claimed that he had counted how many times I had passed gas in a given day, and that it had reached 1,000.

I'm sure he was exxagerating, but perhaps not by much.  It is undoubtedly true that I did pass gas far more often than most people do during the years that I was eating wheat products.  I believe this is a fairly common trait among undiagnosed celiacs.

It is certainly true that I produce far less methane now than I did years ago before I went GF.

Have you had any similar experience?

I know it is a bit unpleasant to talk about...

Steve

Ah, in my house it is the dog. Actually, I always blame him because he can beat me in a heartbeat!

I have noticed that it has decreased since my gluten days are over. Then. when I am confronted with the wiff, I begin mentally tallying my diet. I also think lactose intolerance plays a role for me.
