This may be a personal question, but what the heck?

Have you noticed any changes in your menstrual cycle due to celiac?

I myself stopped menstruating for a while, due to the weight loss, and still have somewhat irregular cycles.

Also, does anyone ever crave foods which normally contain gluten during that time of the month (or during pregnancy)?

I found myself craving cereal lately, which of course isn't a problem, I've been enjoying Mesa Sunrise from Nature's Path

I'm glad I'm not alone! Mine is totally off and has been for years. Sometimes I'll get it every other month or twice a month- it's extremely irregular.  And I was told it was because of my Celiac.
I crave wheaty food all the time! especially good Italian bread with that thick crusty crust and softness inside...yummmm!

I mostly crave chocolate, semi-sweet chips and that seems to be very common. So I don't think that is related to  celiac.
However, I was always hot for the past two or three years and attributed it to approaching menepause. Well, since going gluten free, I can once again wear a sweater without having to rip it off. And now I know what a real hot flash is and oh baby it is not to be confused with any thing else.
I have not noticed any other changes and perhaps it is because I probably only had celiac show up two to three years ago and it did not have time to reek havoc.

Sorry ladies I can't give you any imput......
The doctors gave me a hysterectomy at 37 to cure my anemia which was actually caused by my undected celiac disease.
As far as craving goes......never was much of a bread eater until I was told I couldn't have it :x

When I was undiagnosed, my period stopped for about four months. When I went on the gluten free diet, it started to even out and become regular. I thought I was the only one who craved bread, especially pizza, that time of the month. Good to know I'm not alone.

Well, about the menstral thing: My son died 4 years ago. I have been sick from I guess this wheat gluten allergy, for 3 years. (Immune system took a big hit) I have gone through grief, empty nest, divorce, and change of life all together. The period was off, on, off, on. Painful times with that, which before I seldom had pain.  Anyway, now I'm really happy to be feeling better just from no wheat or gluten. I'm an alcoholic and a celiacolic.(ha ha colic) The hard part for me is my family makes fun of it like I'm faking or hypochondriac, like that.  And socially, well I'm going to a wedding reception and it seems to take an act of God(maybe i need to pray more) to speak to someone who makes sense. ("Oh, we'll just order you a vegetarian meal!') aY YI YI.and that was the catering dept. of the hotel. Well, thanks for the ear if you read all this.  I am frusterated but happy as La Lorena can be.  Carol
